Brief description of the Project: The INTERSABIAS project has as a general aim to investigate how brief psychological interventions, guided by grounded theories and coming from the laboratory (“wise” interventions) can enrich the current evidence-based psychological treatments for various mental disorders (addressing specific mechanisms and processes that underlie the vulnerability, aetiology and/or maintenance of theseproblems). In addition, the project aims to investigate how these “wise” interventions can be delivered with the aid of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), in order to improve their efficiency, efficiency and effectiveness.
More specifically, the INTERSABIAS project intends to address the gap between laboratory-based and theory-driven research and the implementation of therapeutic techniques that may be useful for a large number of people (due to their approach and the way of its administering). INTERSABIAS is going to focus on emotional disorders, developing several brief interventions, which are theoretically guided and psychologically accurate, specifically directed to promote changes in one of the five transdiagnostic domains identified in the literature: attention, memory, thoughts, reasoning and behaviour.

Our participation consists of: Coordination, development, and execution of the project.

Attention bias retraining through virtual reality in population with fear of public speaking

Enhancement of positive autobiographical resources through virtual reality (Google Earth tool) in population with depressive symptoms

Reduction of self-criticism through the creation of multisensory illusions of body-swapping through ” The Machine To Be Another ” technology

Assessment and treatment of bias in emotional reasoningl in people with the fear of public speaking.

The effect of body posture during a re-training on interpretation bias in people with dysphoria.

Effect of Imagery rescripting on exposure therapy in people with the fear of public speaking

Effects of the psychoeducation of embodied cognition on exposure therapy in people with the fear of public speaking.

Efficacy and efficiency of the variability of phobic stimulus during exposure therapy with Augmented Reality in people with cockroach phobia.
